Internal Communications

You are talking, but are they listening?

You’ve heard all the excuses. They are too busy. They suffer from information overload. They have too many emails to sift through. Not everybody has regular Internet access.

Indeed most employees expect effective internal communications. Yet how many employers deliver? And shouldn’t ‘they’ be ‘we’?

Great companies use the most modern tools to communicate with stakeholders. The genius of Facebook, for example, is its ability to mimic the human brain to communicate in an intuitive sense.

Most people, especially those on the road, read SMSs long before emails. And email, while a great information-sharing tool, is a lousy communication tool. Tweeting on Twitter yet? Why not? It’s free.

Do newsletters – paper or email – still serve a purpose? Perhaps. But leaders need to think like PR people when it comes to Internal Communications. Just because you’re communicating with employees doesn’t mean they listen carefully every time.

By creating authentic, meaningful and interactive communication your employees will get the message – loud and clear.
